As anyone may notice on this page, I am certain that music runs in the Rudd bloodline. My uncle, Warren Huey Rudd, can play almost every instrument under the sun including the banjo, piano, fiddle, guitar, etc., His father, John Huey "Huey" Rudd was known as the BEST fiddler in Texas during his life in the Texas Panhandle. John Huey Rudd was a farmer in the Texas Panhandle near Sudan, Texas. He originally was born in Oklahoma. He married Nell Walker, from a nearby farm. They married when she was in her teens, which was not uncommon at the time. Nell Walker had 12 brothers and sisters, which as well, was not uncommon at the time. She was married to "Huey" Rudd for 27 years until widowed by him from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) later known as "Lou Gerhig"s" disease during the first part of the 1950's. She bore only 4 children. The first, a stillborn, was never given a name. Her second child was named Ellouita Rudd (now a Ridgell), whom was helped named by Nell's mother (Mrs. Walker). Her mother (Ellouita's grandmother) liked the name (which, by the way, I always have as well.) Ellouita had two children, Paul Ridgell and Charlene Ridgell. At this time, I do not know Nell Walker Rudd's mother's first or maiden name or her father's first name. She then bore Warren Huey (no children) and shortly thereafter, Norma Nell Rudd (3 children- Michael Rudd David, Miriam Rudd Elaine & Huey "Hugh" Rudd Reginald Morris. Nell Walker remarried in the latter part of the 1950's to Charles Alvin Epps, uncle of Waylon Jennings (yes, the imfamous musician, whom passed away in 2002) If you come across any disinformation or helpful information regarding this history, please let me know.
